Painting Revolution was an exhibition of paintings by artists of the Russian avant-garde. Some of the artisits, especially Vasilii Kandinsky and Kazimir Malevich, are well known to the Western audiences, but many are not, and a particular merit of this exhibition was that its wide diapason of names and styles demonstrated the richness and diversity of Russian visual culture of the 1910s and 1920s.
